I have to be honest with you, I am still totally losing my mind over the fact that these images (and Jeremy’s film) were featured on the 100 Layer Cake blog this morning! We had the incredible privilege of partnering with the Carly Rae Weddings team on this project and they made my subtle '70s under-toned wedding dreams come true.

It was a dreary January evening…I should have been studying, but much to Jeremy’s dismay, I was watching ABBA music videos (...without headphones…sorry babe!). Not one or two, like HOURS worth of ABBA music videos. I was screenshoting different frames and swooning over their bellbottom jumpsuits and orange/yellow/sunshine color palettes. One thing led to another and I was sending Carly and her team a styled elopement moodboard and booking our flights to California!

CRW assembled some KILLER vendors for this project. Trumpet & Horn lent us the most perfect orange-hue diamond ring, Amanda James designed the trendiest bridal jumpsuit (with bellbottoms!), Thistle Oak Floral Co. chose the most stunning color palette for her floral arrangements, and Champagne Press designed a stationery suite that couldn’t have fit the shoot any better.

And I couldn’t help but bring along two of my favorites from Toronto; custom vow booklets by Ivory & Twine and the Liberty print tie in Thorpe from Pomp and Ceremony (Jeremy actually wore this one to our wedding!).

Shooting in Joshua Tree National Park during sunset was surreal. The dessert has to be one of the most stunning backdrops! There are so many perfect locations for elopements. If you’re planning an intimate wedding, you may want to SERIOUSLY consider this spot for your ceremony.

Jeremy and I are planning our next styled elopement in France, but we will DEFINITELY be coming back to California soon. Hope you enjoyed this ‘70s dessert wedding inspo!
