This stunning intimate Toronto wedding was whimsical in every way. The truth is, you can’t go wrong with bright florals, Parisian food, and twinkly lights. Elvie and Mikhail stayed true to themselves in planning their wedding day and didn’t miss a single detail.

Elvie’s dress was from BHLDN and her custom flower crown was made by a Toronto florist. Charm Torres absolutely NAILED her makeup and tied in the colours from her crown perfectly.

Le Sélect Bistro is one of my favourite Toronto wedding venues in part because of their beautiful Parisian interior design, but mostly because their French onion soup is unlike any other. Along with the amazing food, another perk of getting married in a restaurant is that you get to go back! There’s no better place to celebrate your anniversaries and other special milestones.

After a short, but incredibly meaningful ceremony, the party began!

Here are just a few of the beautiful details from the reception; laser-cut table numbers, mini jars of honey as guest favours, and florals in mason jars.

The St Lawrence Market was where we took bridal party portraits. The couple obtained a permit ahead of time so we had the whole place to ourselves! As they walked, Elvie and Mikhail were congratulated by the vendors that were still closing up their stands. It was such a special experience!

The St Lawrence Hall was our historic nineteenth century backdrop for couple portraits. They danced in the empty Dining Hall and it was the perfect ending to a truly unique day.

Anyone who knows me knows that I am HEAD OVER HEELS in love with ethical fashion. I’ve come to really value transparent supply chain management, environmentally sustainable production, and fair treatment of workers all over the world- all of which are totally rare in the fashion industry. The research I’ve done has completely changed my purchasing habits, and connecting with brands that share my values has become a priority and a huge passion of mine.

My fiancé and I have been planning our spring wedding and we are now in the home stretch! Our "theme" is EVERYTHING ETHICAL and it turns out that this isn't the easiest way to plan a wedding…but it has been incredibly rewarding and we have met some amazing people and brands along the way- 2 of which we collaborated with on this shoot!

Brides-to-be, meet Lea-Ann Belter Bridal. Their flagship store is located at the corner of Dundas Street and Broadview Avenue in Toronto and this is also where their gowns are handcrafted. We had SUCH an incredible experience with their bridal specialist, Vanessa that we bought the first dress I tried on! I can't show it off yet, but in the meantime, you can feast your eyes on 2 of Lea-Ann's other timeless pieces, Iris and Lilac.

Pictured above (and directly below) is the breathtaking Iris gown.

Next up is the Lilac gown! Kerri walked around town in this dress and she must have looked like the most stunning runaway bride (we didn't have a groom for this shoot!), but she got warm "Congratulations!" from nearly every passerby all the same. It was quite hysterical!

I stopped saving dessert for last as soon as I was able to reach the top shelf of the pantry, BUT the Fair Trade Jewellery Co.'s gems are a serious treat and I saved them for last this time (with much ladylike restraint). Robin Gambhir, CEO and Co-Founder of Fair Trade Jewellery Co., lent us two pieces from their "Ready to Wear" collection. By clicking on the images below you can see a detailed description of these pieces and learn more about this amazing company.

These rings SPARKLE (Kerri can attest to this!) . An engagement ring is something you'll (hopefully) wear for the rest of your life and to be confident that it was made fairly is really special. Fair Trade Jewellery Co.'s rings are certified by the B Corporation, Fairtrade Mined, and Fairmined. You can read all about their commitment to ethical production HERE

We bought a round of hot chocolates before heading home and BOY did we get some funny looks in Second Cup. Although this was a chilly shoot, it was so worth it. Thanks for coming along on our mini journey!

Much love,
